Page 1 of 2 Traditional made All Wood (Pine) Constructed Coopered Barrel Top Chest utilising a Bees Wax Finish This unusual shaped chest is an heirloom piece to be handed down through the generations; it is, as with many of our chests constructed purely of wood with no metal fixings at all. This is achieved through carefully design and craftsmanship, the lid for instance is made in the same fashion as a beer barrel and in fact could be removed from the body of the chest and floated down the river. The body of the chest is hinged to the lid by hand made Ash Hinges and Clasps. Shown here is a chest made of Pine, with Spalted Sycamore highlights, Aromatic Cedar Bottom, Steam bent Ash Bands and Ash Hinges/Clasps with a truncated end profile, although we will construct to your specification any size and wood combination.
